To use today’s resources wisely and protect the environment in order to meet the needs of future generations. This means using natural resources in a balanced way, living without harming the environment, and ensuring social justice while meeting the needs of society.

Upcycling or Recycling?

It is the process of transforming a discarded item that has lost its function into something new and useful. Upcycling aims to give existing items a new life. By doing so, an item that would otherwise contribute to waste can be repurposed in different ways, serving a new function and extending its useful life. Additionally, upcycling prevents the need for purchasing new items, as the transformed object can fulfill a new purpose. Through upcycling, we can repurpose many discarded items and reduce waste. Starting to use upcycled items for new and different purposes helps us avoid both purchasing new items and increasing waste.

Recycling

It is the conversion of certain unusable and recyclable wastes into raw materials through various chemical and physical methods, and reintroducing them into the production process.

Upcycling vs recycling

Recycling involves breaking down materials into their raw forms to create new products and often requires intensive energy processes. Upcycling takes waste and creates something new from its existing state. It requires minimal energy input and helps conserve resources.
